OK, I will start at the beginning - a very good place to start...
Once upon a time I was playing Dungeons and Dragons. I created a new character, and using dice to generate the letters I gave him a name - Mawali.
More recently, but still a few years ago, I created an email account with Yahoo. I wanted to call myself Mawali, but Yahoo said it was taken - do I want to call myself Mawaliuk? Sure!
Only recently have I discovered what Mawali means. It means a non-Arab who follows Islam. Suddenly Mawaliuk sounds very like IslamUK!
Should I change it?

interesting predicament. does it really matter to you? are there any repercussions from keeping it?
Kenady - I don't mind having it - it makes no difference to me directly, but I did start to wonder if it might get me some unwanted attention.
has anything bizarre happened since you opened that account? if you feel uncomfortable with the thought of unwanted attention, then i would go ahead and change it to be on the safe side:)
Email accounts are free and easy to open. If it bothers you, create a new one. But I would guess there might be more hassle in changing it, then notifying your contacts, etc. So maybe it's easier to just keep it.
:) I say, just keep the address. It is no big deal. I've seen worse email addresses before.
I might create a new email address soon for official use...

Terri - Yes, I do have quite a lot linked to this address, so maybe I will just roll with it.
Shadowthorne - That is great! Maybe I should steal that name from you! :-)
Depends if you want the attention. If you start getting a lot of queries/spam mails, you could always dump it. I'd keep it.
agg79 - I think you are right - too much trouble to change it for the sake of appearance! If someone wants to monitor my emails because of the name I guess they will be very disappointed.
I thought we all had to be muslims in the UK now anyway....
James - Great to see you! I guess you have a point there! Keeping the address now anyway, whatever.
