For Fathers Day Mrs RC got me an excellent card. It said that I was allowed to be right for 24 hours!
What an astonishing gift!
You see, I am usually wrong about things - you name it - if Mrs RC and I have had a discussion about it and have had different opinions, I will turn out to be the one that was wrong. In 24 years I have been right 6 times (yes I have been counting) and still have a couple of years to go before I am due to be right again :-)
Not that it bothers me! I know guys who really hate being wrong to the point where it is destructive to their relationships. This is, to my mind, ridiculous! When did macho pride become more important than matrimonial bliss? Hm, thinking on that one, I think I got the question the wrong way around! Macho pride has always been a problem!
So, did I milk my "rightness" to the max?
Nah!
There is something to be said for knowing that you are wrong, a sort of comforting security - being right makes me feel nervous...

Uh...you didn't "cash" that thing in did you? Think of the damage one could do in 24 hours!!!!
Say, do you think you could give husband lessons to other husbands? I might know someone who could benefit from your style...
by the by... Happy Father's Day!
I love the card and the idea that you have only been right 6 times. I think my hubby is in the same boat, but it does not bother him either:)
Morethananelectrician - I limited it to choosing dinner (something that I usually do at weekends anyway!). And you are so right - 24 hours of me being "right" would cause utter mayhem, maybe even the end if civilization as we know it!
Terri - I gave up trying a long time ago! :-(
Kenady - And isn't that the best way to be? I thought he looked like a sensible guy!
I just wrote that I "strongly disliked" you...on that whole weight loss thing...and now I'm once again voting for you for "my most favorite person"...LOL....but you could be a real life "Hitch" I think! Have you seen that movie w/ Will Smith?
Teresa - haven't seen Hitch yet, although we do have the DVD. But I thought his own relationships were rubbish?
