My New Name!

I recently tried, very sucessfully, to make American Indian Fry Bread (recipe here). In England, if you just say "Indian" everyone immediately thinks that you are talking about something or someone that comes from India, so I therefore feel obliged to add "American" to clarify the situation...

Anyway, I blogged about it and the wonderful Chachi...

... who is of Indian descent (and is, I believe, eating Fry Bread in the photo) decided that I should now call myself Chief Rock Chef. Well, who can argue with something like that? Not me!

Thank you Chachi!

Wow, it has been quite a week, hasn't it? I feel exhausted! But I can't rest yet - tomorrow is my little girl's 12th Birthday! Yes, another birthday!

Have a great weekend!

Chief Rock Chef... YES! I like it! I wonder what my American Indian name might be? It would be fun to have one.

And Happy Birthday to Cicely! Hope she has a wonderful day!

Terri - How about something like Crazy Flower?

tz - We have done the teenage daughter thing once already, but she is very different to how our eldest was. Yes, I am mildly terrified!

Ok, Chief, I am on the floor laughing. I so love the new name. Not every one can become a chief over night. All you need now is long braids, a headband with some feathers sticking out the back and leather buckskin outfit complete with fringe and moccasins. That would be a hoot to see. You have such a wonderful sense of humor and wit. I always get a chuckle out of your blog.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to your daughter. So she is turning 12. Wow, don't they grow up fast? My daughter will be 15 in July and technically she could start Drivers Ed now but I'm just not ready for that besides it is quite expensive to take the drivers course so she will have to wait another year. How old do kids have to be to drive in England?

BTW thanks for clarifying American Indians vs. India Indians.

Chachi - if I can find it I will scan and post a pic of myself when I was around 12 with long hair and a leather head band. And I do wear moccasins a lot too! So you can see I have been in training for the title for a long time!

Our kids can't start learning to drive until they are 17, which in my mind is the worst possible age to set it at!

Very official sounding with the "Chief" added!

Wow, congratulations to your daughter. It seems like she just had a b-day. I remember you blogging about all the fun gifts your wife bought for her girlfriends. I can't believe a year has already passed.

Cool, name, hmmm now I'm thinking about how I should change my name too.

Just like a man to appoint himself chief... lol. Somehow it seems to be working for you. Best wishes for a great birthday and great year for your daughter. 12 can be a great but difficult age.

Mindy - I thought it had a good ring to it!

AmazingBrenda - Yes, that was a year ago - time is really flying by at the moment. A new name? I think the current one says it all!

Jenelle - I just accepted the title that was offered! :-) My girl has a good head on her shoulders so we are hoping that the next few years won't be too bad for her.

Logzie - Glad you like it. Cicely is a great name isn't it? We got it from the TV show Northern Exposure - remember that?

Chachi - Haven't found the old picture yet - or are you expecting a new one?

Sitting in Silence - Thanks, we had a great day!
