Next stop Christmas!

Scarey thought, huh?

Almost s scarey as that photo!

Last week was not the best of weeks, so I won't dwell on that, but on Friday Mrs RC and I felt in need of a little retail-therapy, so we headed off to a new Range store that has just opened nearby.  It is a great place that sells everything from sofas to pet food, and all at reasonable prices.  We wandered around for a couple of hours picking up odds and ends that we clearly "needed" and played on the sofas and chairs trying to choose what we wanted.  Yes, our sofas do need replacing and we will be buying new very soon, so don't think we were bouncing on the furniture for nothing!

Saturday passed in a bit of a haze - a long lay-in, a trip out to get dinner (home made Chinese with noodles, hoi sin pork and stir fried chicken) and then, um, not sure to be honest!

Sunday was quiet, mainly focused on watching various TV stuff about 9/11.  The History Channel showed an amazing real-time programme of amateur video footage.  If you haven't seen it, try to.  It is incredible.  Adding Ground Zero to the trip itinerary...

**************************

Didn't feel like cooking dinner, so I cycled to the local KFC.

Walking in alone I ordered 18 pieces of chicken, 16 hot wings and 6 large fries.

"Is that to eat-in or take-away?"

Do I look like someone who could eat all that without help?

wReggie - It would be worth it just to see the look on her face!

What are you? Some kind of big girl's blouse? 18 pieces of chicken, 16 wings and 6 large fries. C'mon man! You can do it!

In truth, there are people who will order that much food and it eat by themselves. They're called KFC patrons.

Did you wear the hat to KFC? If so, 'nuff said. Speaking of the hat...now you've gone and done it! I'm having a hard time waiting for Halloween and you've just stoked me for Christmas. The Hub is going to need a lot of patience the next 14 weeks.

Wigsf - I could do it as a challenge, but might save myself for a food challenge when I am in the USA in a couple of years time...

Ninny - Just what are you saying about my wonderful hat? Hah, I bet your husband loves you for it really!

Christmas is still 2 months away o Rock Chef the chicken-eater.
Buy a quality sofa set, and if it is good enough, the price shouldn't matter :)
I just had dinner at a McD some 20 km away from home. My housemate really love that place.
I actually prefer to cook at home.

Shadowthorne - our last sofa set was good quality and lasted well. With 3 teenagers in the house we need robust furniture! Haven't had McD's for a long time...

We need a new sofa set too (I'm not proud, we'll have your old one, when you're done with it)! Please quit with the Christmas talk - it's still summer over here, so there! I caught that Discovery programme too, heartbreaking, wasn't it? As for the KFC, unless you've grown hollow legs, that's hysterical (grin)..

Shrinky - I'll tie it to the back of my bike and peddle it up to Liverpool. You can take it from there.

I watched the same 9/11 documentary on The History Channel, "102 Minutes That Changed America"....amazing and haunting production.
Never Forget!

PS... Love the hat! :)

Believe it or not, I am already thinking Christmas and have some things in the works. So out of character for me to be on top of things this early!

Retail therapy is the best, isn't it? Of course, I wouldn't put it past you to go bouncing around on furniture just for the heck of it.

Ms K - That is the one. Amazing and haunting, as you say. Thanks, I like the hat too - not many do for some reason...

Terri - Don't lose your momentum - Mrs RC is starting now too. Hey, are you suggesting that I am a bit immature or something? :-)
