Summer Plans

Just thought I would let you all know when I will be vanishing this summer.

My first break will be starting this Thursday, back on 21 July. This time will be spent preparing for and having our party to celebrate what would have been my eldest daughter's 21st, and then going into a week as house husband again. My wife has been steadily dieting for the last few months but has now hit a point where nothing seems to be happening. The other evening we were watching The Biggest Loser and she said that she would love to have a week where all she had to think about was dieting and working out. So that is what she is getting next week, I will be doing all of the normal stuff while she gets to go nuts. Should be an interesting week!

My next break will be from August 6 to 18, including our camping trip. This should be an "experience", especially given the latest weather forecasts for the summer - basically we have had it already, and we could be looking at another really wet one! I think we will be selecting our pitch carefully...

More soon, I am not vanishing quite yet!

wow... now, i'm impressed! i only wish hashim would be so kind to allow me a break to exercise my tush off and diet for a week w/out worrying about the little one!!

so the summer weather is finished there? we're just starting. we've had temps up to 49 ... it's terrible.

hope your alls camping trip is fun. i haven't been camping in a long, long time.... i'd love to visit my sister and go w/ them sometime.

have fun on your breaks and good luck to your wife!! the biggest loser gives me incentive as well.

You have some fun stuff in the works and I hope you all have a great time.

You will be missed. My days just won't be the same without my daily dose of Chief Rock Chef!

um naief - Weather forecasters are saying summer is more or less over :-( I have never experienced 49 degree weather - that is HOT! I think the exercise week will be fun and my wife can't wait to get going. You and your sister in a tent? Are you sure? :-)

Terri - I think this summer will be good, regardless of the weather (though I would rather it didn't rain too much while we are living in a tent! I will miss you too. Wonder if there is a way of having posts appear at set times?

Hah! You can set the time and date for a post to appear! If I get time I will set up some posts to appear while I am away!

Isn't it sad that I'm actually pouting that you're going away? Sad, sad, sad :)

But I really do hope you have a fantastic time on all your weeks off! Especially during the camping week - yay camping!

Ali - Yes, it is very sad. In fact, it is so sad that I might just cancel my plans for the whole summer. How about that?

I wanna go camping!

Zig - Call me chicken, but I think camping is a bit more dangerous in your neck of the woods, with bears and stuff wandering around...

We will miss you!! But having daily posts set up will fake us out and we'll think you never left us! Ha!

That is fantastic that you are allowing your wife that time she needs. She is so blessed to have you!

Enjoy and I can't wait to hear all about your camping trip.

You've got some serious adventures planned. Hopefully there will be enough time, weather, and patience to get through it all. If not, chalk it up to memory making opportunities.

so stupid question...do you guys have your own version of biggest loser or is this the american version you watch?

And many heart-felt thoughts with you and your family while celebrating what would have been...

good luck to your wife, i hope this helps jump start her system

and take lots of pictures to share with us when you get back!

Hope you have an awesome time this summer.

Best wishes to your wife and her diet. "You can do it, yes, you can".

BTW when does your summer start and end there or when is it the hottest? Ours is June thru Sept. with the hottest weather in late July /August. A lot of humidity here with temp 80 - 90 degrees.

Yes!!! Cancel your plans so that you can keep me entertained and I can stop pouting! Yay!

LOL - I'm kidding of course - about the canceling anyways :)

Logzie - I will try to set up some scheduled posts for while I am away, and yes there will be lots of pics when I get back!

Jenelle - Whatever happens it will be different and fun. We are all really looking forward to it.

tz - There was one season of Biggest Loser UK, but it is mainly the US version we watch. Might have seen some Australians too!

Chachi - Our summer is the same time as yours, but they have been getting wetter in recent years, so what should be our best time in July and August is just as likely to be cloudy, windy and raining as it is to be hot and sunny. As soon as our humidity gets high we tend to get thunderstorms which clears things a bit - even the odd twister too, but I have never seen one, only heard about the damage on the news.

Ali - I think having timed posts is a fair compromise, don't you?

Sitting in Silence - Thanks - my wife is really getting geared up for her Biggest Loser week!
