Kiki introduced me to this meme. I thought it looked like great fun, so here goes.
The first one is Bette Midler's "Wind beneath my wings", from the movie Beaches. This song and the movie really bring out the blubbing girl in me...
Next is Thin Lizzy's mega cheese-fest, "Dancing in the moonlight". It is the essence of the teenage crush...
Third is The Darkness, singing "Christmas Time". It is one of the greatest Christmas songs ever, IMO...
Nearly there. This one is Steps's version of "Tragedy". Oh so cheesy, but I can't help singing along. I have seen this lot live and they were so entertaining...
Finally, the boy from the valleys, Tom Jones singing Delilah. I don't do karaoki, but if this song was on the menu and I had a few beers inside me who knows...
Anyone else want to confess?

Tom Jones aye? That one makes me laugh.
Actually, most of Tommy's songs are quite catchy!!
There, I said it....
I admit I actually kind of liked that Paris Hilton song a few years back, and Ali still won't let me forget it!!
Yeah - I don't think I'm ready to confess 5 songs... but there would be at least one Tom Jones song in my list as well... probably Sex Bomb... I once caught myself singing it as I was waking up from surgery...
Jenelle - Laugh? Women used to throw their undies at him!
Chris - I think I only heard the Paris Hilton song once. It IS the sort of thing that a woman won't let go of, though ;-)
Zig - You woke up from surgery singing Sex Bomb? Fantastic! Did anyone else notice?
You know, I really never understood the whole Tom Jones thing, but now that I've seen and heard that video, I have this strange urge to throw my undies at him.
(I have only ever heard that song performed at Karaoke bars, and it never inspired any sort of undergarment flinging, thankfully.)
The only one of these groups I have heard of or sang (drunkingly) along to was Mr. Tom Jones. It was not followed by me throwing undies at him or anyone else.
Terri - Karaoki can inspire the throwing of lots of things, but rarely undies!
Jen - I think you have to be drunk to sing along with that, don't you. Interesting that you didn't know any of the others - I guess The Darkness and Steps never broke into the American market, while you are too young for Lizzy. I thought you would have known the Bette Midler one, though!
Interesting meme. I might do this myself. I'll have to have a long think about it though because I don't think I'm embarrassed about any songs that I like.
Marie - Oh, I am sure there is something that you don't want us to know about - a Boyzone CD or something... ;-)
So - I am at work and everyone has left for the weekend and I thought it would be a good idea to play your music before I went home - of course I had it as loud as I could get it and someone came by from the newsroom and wanted to know what I was listening to - it was just to hard to explain!! Great way to end my week!!!
LMAO....Tom Jones...
I'm not ready to confess after Tom LMAO !
i LOVE tom jones!! have since i was a young girl. my mom adores him and thought he was the sexiest thing alive for oh so long.... still does if i'm not mistaken and she's in her 70s!! :)
also love the bee gee's so am sure i'd love this other tune of 'tragedy'... altho haven't listened to it yet...
waiting to put naief to sleep and then will listen to your choices...
well.. never heard the christmas song before, but i liked it. i think the british songs and american songs are different... or maybe i'm just behind the times! ;)
the tragedy song.. yeah, it's cheesy, but i like it too. that black woman in the back... she looks like barack obama's wife!! has anyone else noticed that or is it just me?
and tom jones.. agian, what can i say?!! mr. zig... i agree.. love Sex Bomb!
and for a list of 5... don't think i could narrow them down to five...
Claire - not sure how I would explain it either! Hope it doesn't start rumours!
Sitting in Silence - Can I take that as an admission that you would, if given the chance, throw your undies at good old Tom? :-)
Um Naief - My mom is 70 and still loves Tom - age does not kill the libido... There is a big difference between US and British music, although there will always be those Brits who try to sound American.
