Sting and Number One Son

Lifted out the bit of Sting that I recorded last week.

I think you can hear that it is him. Decided to cut it short when the bouncers started to come out of the tent...

Another big day today - Number One Son is 17 years old!  17 years ago, I was sitting here (well over there to be honest, I have moved the room around since then) and the call came.  Mrs RC was sure that this was it.  She had been fine in the morning and we still had 2 weeks to go, but Number One Son had other ideas...

One of the students gave me a lift home where we called an ambulence to get to the hospital.

This was not to be the easiest birth.  The chord was around his neck so he kept disengaging to avoid strangling himself - a clever little sod even then!  In the end they decided to force the issue - one midwife stood over Mrs RC with her hands where the baby's bottom was and pushed down hard while another one waited to catch him and cut the chord when he came out.  The plan worked fine, although it was very nasty to watch and even nastier for Mrs RC who had no effective painkillers when it was done!

So now he is all grown up, as tall as I am and looking forward to the future.  He is a great kid - guy?  No, kid, he will always be my kid.  As I was saying, he is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders and lots of his own opinions.  We are very proud of him.

Great concert post. Felt like I was almost there.

Happy Birthday to Number One Son! Heck of an early entrance but I guess he didn't want to wait any longer. Any you nailed it dead on - no matter how old they get, they are still your kids.

Mrs RC is a strong woman. The delivery of her son sounds very difficult. I know you and Mrs RC are celebrating your son's birthday with much joy. Happy Birthday, Number One Son.

Well Happy Birthday to him! Do they really turn into 17 year olds one day? Hard to imagine!

I can't imagine just walking across a Sting concert. That's so cool that you did. Thanks for sharing a clip!

And Happy Birthday to #1 Son. It's no surprise he turned out to be such a great person. He's got great parents!

Agg79 - Thanks, you can really appreciate my skilled camera work...

TechnoBabe - Thanks. The delivery was difficult but very fast. And yes, she is a very strong woman!

TZ - It is amazing how fast the time passes. Thanks, we do our best.

Kate - Yes they do - one minute they are projective vomiting rusks over you, the next they are applying for driving licenses...

Terri - It is amazing what you see in central London. I have heard Bon Jovi doing sound tests in Hyde Park, seen several TV celebrities and been propositioned by hookers!

My God, what an entry into the world! My eldest is 19, and it's his size 12 feet that mesmorises me, it's hard to imagine I once carried him in my womb!

Wow, how great you had your camera about you when you happened by, London provides some lovely surprises, doesn't it?

Shrinky - My son is size 11 and still growing - I am size 12 and hope he stops there, as size 13s are harder to find. I love day trips to London because it always surprises, but I could never live there.
