My Major Award!

When Terri told me that she was going to send me a Major Award, I was really excited.

It arrived on Friday:

No, the film above is not me and my family! I know it should be obvious but I sometimes wonder about the readers that I attract ;-)

Oh don't pout, you know I don't mean it!

Here I am, with my prize:

Hope you are all having a great day!

Ellery just watched this with me, and babbled at you excitedly the whole time :)

That was her up there, lol.

And about the kit kats...bizarre! I actually find that kit kats are the only chocolate bar where I notice a difference between the ones from Canada, and the ones from the US!!! Perhaps you get American made ones...hmmm...

Ali - I seem to have that effect on babies! I was expecting there to be a big difference in the Kitkats, based on other American chocolate that I have had. Funny that they are different in Canada. I would blame the French! They have got it in for our chocolate in Europe, want to stop us calling it chocolate! BAH!

That was a wierd film. If I wanted to put a lamp like that in the front window I am sure Laundry Fairy would quickly suggest an alternative place for me to stick it.....

I must admit my taste in chocolate has recently changed. I have been buying this cheap chocolate from Lidl which is dark, like 74% cocoa. I found that I don't crave it because the taste is much stronger you don't need so much of it.

James - Weird? That was from A Christmas Story, the best Christmas movie ever made! I picked it up on DVD for around £5 last year to replace my aging VHS copy that I took from the TV. Chocolate that you don't crave? What is the point of that???!!!? :-)

Chocolate not craved = teeth last couple of years longer

Oh sorry forgot to add hope your FIL is OK

Rock Chef said...

James - True, true... And yes, the FIL is doing well, should be going home tomorrow, having already had treatment that people in my area wait 6 months for - if they survive to get it! I think the moral is that if you are having heart problems, go on holiday to Devon and pretend to be having a heart attack!

Glad to hear your FIL is doing better! What a great prize! I loved your video. Ella came up and began to watch with me and she said "who dat?" and I said "my friend" and when your video was over she said "where friend do?".

Great prize too!! Long live video blogs!!

I LOVE that you vlogged this! I had forgotten about writing "Fra-GEE-lay" on the bottom of the box. Wonder if any of the postal employees laughed at that or if it's an old joke by now?

I think we need to all get together and bring all of our chocolates and have a big blog-meet/taste testing convention.

Teresa - Ella is so sweet! With her and Ellery showing and interest, maybe I should do a vblog for children!

Terri - I think only very special people actually write "Fra-GEE-lay" on parcels. That was one of thte best things I have ever seen. A chocolate tasting convention would be wonderful, but perhaps a chocolate exchange program might be easier - like a student exchange but with chocolate! What do you think?

I'm with Terri on the 'chocolate blog meet'...I mean it would clearly be for research purposes ONLY! :)

I would LOVE a video blog for kids! Do it! Do it! Do it! Just kidding...I won't nag you...I did enough of that for your guitar vlog! You get a break now...He He!

Teresa - You really think that would be good? Hm I will have to think about that one!

LOVE the vlog. Love the accent too :) Although I'm sure to you I have an accent too if you heard me. I'm from Chica-gah (Chicago)!

I'm surprised food made it over in the package. Somethimes our postal system is so finnicky about what goes in and out of the country.

It's either on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve over here where one of the cable channels plays that movie non-stop for 24-hours. It is THE best Christmas movie. Why? Beacuse we can all relate to some level of family dysfunction at the holidays. And that dysfunction is actually what makes us function. Anywho . . . sign me up for any future chocolate exchanges. I've never met one I didn't like.

i agree... this is the best Christmas movie ever made!! i love it. just thinking about different scenes, makes me smile. i love when he's beating the crap out of that bully, screaming and stuff. then, the first thing he does w/ the gun is put his eye out. ;) just like his mother said. his father and mother's relationship... that leg lamp. gosh.. i want to watch this again. :)

have you ever seen the movie about Ebenezer Scrooge done by Henry Winkler? it's called An American Christmas Carol. different than A Christmas Story ... not funny, but, in my opinion, was the best about Scrooge.... except, in thinking about it now, i did enjoy the one done long ago... maybe the original.

and re: kit kats.. they are also different here. don't taste the same and you can get these really big ones and they're just disgusting.

what do the French want it called??

what other american chocolate/candy do you like?? i love american candy... wish i could get a lot more of it here. i go crazy when i'm in the states and have been known to pack it and ship it! seriously. :)

Congrats! I visited in '88 and was amazed that a Twix bar is called a Raider bar there.

If you want to try some different candy, I'll gladly send you some.
