Bet none of you know what song that line comes from!
Anyway, there we were, half asleep.
"What's the time?"
I looked at the clock.
"Twenty five past seven."
"Oh, that's OK then."
"We'd better get up."
"Why?"
I was getting increasingly confused - was it Sunday or something? We should have been up long ago.
"Because it is twenty five past seven", I said with a bit more emphasis.
"Hm... SHIT!"
Suddenly it was all action.
Apparently, between leaving my mouth and reaching my wife's ears, the word "past" became "to". There must be some strange explanation for this. Any suggestions?

It's too early for me to think... what song does that line come from? Enter Sandman....?
I think your wife's confusion was merely a sleep induced denial of the fact that it was long past time to get up!
Terri - Not Enter Sandman - much older. I like your explanation, though!
Terri - Holy crap, is it really 3.46?
She heard what she wanted to hear....
Odd. Usually it's the man turning things around to hear what he wants ;)
James - I think you are right!
Ali - Women always tell men what they want to hear? Yep! :-)
I have no suggestions but I do know that I hate starting days off like that...in a rush. Better luck tomorrow! :)
It wasn't 3:46. It was 4:46, right after my alarm went off...
Were you going to tell us what the song was?
The wicked witch was obviously not dead and was responsible for the break in the space/time sleep inducing continuum!
I'm with Teresa....if my day starts out like that...it just continues till I get back to bed LMAO....Which is normally half 12 when the bubba takes a kip...LOL
This morning (Friday) I woke up at 7:30 am with my alarm clock in bed with me and I had to be at my sister's by 7:45 am to carpool with her - didn't get there until 8 am - aughhhh!!!!
