Work

My job is very varied - basically my role is to make sure that things run as smoothly as possible for everyone else, so I get a lot of different things to do.

This morning, I started off using a GIS (basically maps on computers - Hi Sid, please don't be offended by the simple description!) to analyse where people at a particular event came from. This is the start of a project where we will dig deeper and find out how much they spent, some socio-economic profiling etc.

My final job for the day? Sharpening a load of pencils for an exercise that the students are doing in the morning.

Odd? Probably, but I love it!

There's nothing better than having a job that you love :)

There's definitely a wide variety of tasks there! I hope you have an electric pencil sharpener for all those pencils!

Zig - I had about 50, and my ceiling is hard wood so I can't stick them in it :-(

Logzie - I get bored doing the same thing endlessly.

Ali - I think it is an important part of life, but there are things that are better...

Terri - No, just a little hand one...

Sitting in Silence - Much as I would love to have you working here, I think you are doing too much good where you are now. Sorry.

Nah that's pretty much how I explain my job to everyone except they still don't get it. They ask me if I fly around in a helicopter to create these maps.

Sid - What a great thought! Wonder if I can persuade my boss that I need helicopter trips!

Oh, of COURSE there are things better! I mean purely in the working sense - there's nothing better (work wise) than having a job you love.

Sheesh! As if I would pick work over family, friends, love, breakfast, Christmas...hehe :)

sometimes it's very Zen to just sharpen pencils...soothing.

I get that way sometimes.
couldn't do it all day though.

Ali - Don't forget shoes...

tz - No, I don't think I could do it all day either! But I managed to do it while catching up on blogs, so it was pretty good all round!

I figured shoes and sex were kind of a given :)
