Weekend HIghlights

On Saturday morning, Mrs RC took me to do something that I had never done before.  I was really unsure about it, especially as I have never paid for it be for.  In the end it was OK, Mrs RC watched the whole thing and when we left I felt like a new man.  My new hair cut is great - it is just like the old one, only slightly layered so I get more curls. I have been at work for an hour and no one has noticed - even when I told someone they did not seem to believe me!  Love it!

In the evening we went to a niece's 21st birthday party.  It was in a pub in the town and the start of the evening was not encouraging when someone was found snorting cocaine in the toilets.  There was a bit of a fight as he was thrown out but that was the end of it.  The rest of the evening was great, especially when my niece's boyfriend proposed to her.  We were trilled to see that.  She is such a lovely girl and he is such a nice guy - it is always a worry that the younger ones will fall for some complete slime ball, isn't it?  Now the real fun will start - Mrs RC seems to have been appointed as chief wedding planner!

Sunday was a lazy day, the highlight being me and Mrs RC slobbing on the sofa and watching Rock of Ages.  Not a fan of any of the stars (Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin), but I had heard good things about it so watched it expecting it to be OK.  It was actually very funny - and Tom Cruise is very good at playing the arrogant ass...  My favourite scene was the Boy and the Girl talking about how bad life has been to them since they split up.

Her:  I am a stripper!
Him:  I am in a BOY BAND!
Her:  OK, you win...

So now it is Monday again.  This morning was cold, grey and miserable, but the sun is out now so, hopefully, it will be nice by lunchtime - I want to spend an hour in that garden writing more of my zombie book...

What, no photo of the new hairdo??

Congratulations to your neice, I'm glad it's a nice guy doing the proposing and not a slime ball found snorting cocaine.

I've not seen Rock of Ages, maybe I'll give it a chance.

We got our copy of Rock of Ages for £5 and thought it was a good buy at that price.

Might post a photo of the hair soon - it got squished by the cycle helmet this morning...

Wow, did you all know he was going to propose? And Abby's right, we need to see new hair pics!

I'm sure your niece's parents (your siblings??) are relieved she didn't choose a slime ball. I've known quite a few people who have, who don't listen to advice, and wind up learning too late. Congratulations to them both!
What does Mrs RC think of your new haircut. Was it as good for her as it was for you? Will she let you pay for it again?

Yes. Get back to your zombie porn.
"Is that rigor mortis or are you happy to see me?"

Meleah Rebecca - It was, thanks!

Riot Kitty - Most people there did, but I certainly didn't!

ShadowRun300 - She is my younger brother's daughter. He is an ex bouncer, with shaved head, tattoos and a pierced tongue. He has thrown most of the local slimeballs out of night clubs over the years :-)

Wigsf - Hm, I might have to add a scene just for you... :-)

A "paid-for" haircut is a good idea now and then, just to make sure things are kept manageable. I usually cut Jake's hair but once in a while make him go get a professional cut.

The birthday party will remain a memorable one, what with the cocaine use, a fight and the happy proposal! Congrats to your niece and to Mrs. RC on her new job as wedding planner.

I always thought Tom Cruise was an arrogant ass anyway. Sounds like the role was made for him!

Terri - We have never been fans of Tom Cruise, and he just seems to get worse as time goes on. But as you say, this part was made for him.

Watched Rock of Ages on the flight to the Philippines last year. £5 is about right for a price (for something with Tom Cruise in it). Was a nice weekend to spend with Mrs RC.
