Photography

The Uni recently held a photography competition - the theme was Wildlife and Society.

My entry was called Roadkill...

Not pretty, but I thought it fitted the theme.  I was nearly roadkill myself when I stopped on the busy, narrow road to take it!

I came 2nd!

Yep. It fits the theme alright. Sad, but true, and you did a great job capturing the concept! I'm glad you were able to avoid society on wheels!

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Oops. I mean why DIDN'T the chicken cross the road?

2nd place! Way to go!

Whatever that roadkill is, looks like it was a beautiful creature once upon a time.

Um. Congrats on the prize and glad you didn't become the subject of another picture.

2nd place? That roadkill rooster should have taken 1st prize. The ultimate still wildlife portrait.

A beautiful animal.

I am a very morbid person, but weirdly, i don't go around snapping pictures of woe and death.

It's already depressing in the head, so i make it a point not to capture it in picture for future observation.

Second place? Yay for the Romantic RC!

Abby - It was a pheasant, so would probably have made a nice meal...

ShadowRun300 - Thanks, I try to stay alive - what would you all do without me!?! :-)

Wigsf - Yep, this one certainly failed...

Terri - it is a pheasant - there are quite a few of these living wild in this area. They are generally thought of as game birds, making large, slow targets for hunters.

Riot Kitty - Thanks - I can see myself trying to take a self portrait while laying in the road, now! :-)

Agg79 - Thanks - the winning picture was a great photo of a woodpecker. Not sure it really worked with the theme, but still a great photo.

wReggie - they are, but they are slow and don't fly too well either :-(

Shadowthorne - I only took the photo because of the competition, I normally try to get "nice" photos.
