It started on Saturday, as I rode the bus back from a shopping trip.
I felt sick.
I felt SO sick that I had to get off the bus early and walk the rest of the way home.
I sucked it up for the rest of the evening, but on Sunday I felt like crap - no energy, no motivation to do anything other than flop in front of the TV.
Monday morning came.
I rang in sick and went back to sleep, finally emerging at 1.30 to stop my bladder bursting.
As the day went on I gradually recovered, the sick feeling subsiding and my energy returning. In the evening started by setting up the Nativity and then progressed to decorating the front porch (the Pooh Bear Grotto returns!) and starting the hall - my old blue decorations have had to be changed because the hall is now mainly red. I think the tree is finally going up today, but Mrs RC has to finish repainting the sittingroom first...
I finally got my new camera - well I bought it, but it won't be mine until Christmas morning. It is a Panasonic (I think) 14megapixel, HD video camera. It is really small but seems to do everything that I need and it was half price! Woo hoo! In addition, the memory cards were buy one get one free, and they practically gave me 3 year instant replacement cover, even if I drop it down the toilet and ruin it! Can't wait to get snapping with this new toy. Yes I will post some photos for you to see.
OK, time to finish - have a great day - what's left of it anyway!

Ugh... it's THAT time of year again. Time for colds and strange ailments. Seems like everyone has to take their turn at least once. Glad you're feeling better again.
A new camera is a fun and exciting Christmas gift! I'm sure your blog will be full of proof of its capabilities.
Ooo The Terrific Rock Chef is extra busy :)
Glad you are back on your feet after that spell. I am coughing like a choo-choo train, yet I still insist on drinking iced water, so dumb, I know, but it's my own throat.
Can't wait to see those pics.
I've got coughing and sniffling kids, but have managed to steer clear - now it's in the blogs too!
I'm glad you're feeling better and even decorated. I have done nothing, so now you've shamed me into doing something!
Terri - Yes, I am hoping that having thrown something now I will be clear for Christmas - hate being ill at Christmas!
Shadowthorne - How about adding some lemon to the water? That might be good!
Abby - All of my kids were off school today. Not good. Glad you got going on the decorations!
Way ahead of you, my friend. I picked up my own cold about a week ago and have been enjoying it ever since.
Congrats on the new camera! I have high expectations of great pictures from you. Just don't go dropping it in the toilet any time soon.
Agg79 - hope you can shake the cold by Christmas! I don't intend to take the camera anywhere NEAR the toilet.
The good thing was the bug was a little one, a 24 hour variety. You didn't catch the big two week variety. You are exposed to so many germs having to ride the public transportation. It says a lot for your immune system that you seldom catch the bugs there.
I knew I liked your wife. She likes to paint your rooms like I like to paint.
We will have to exchange ideas about our new cameras. I have had mine a couple weeks, only mine is an Olympus.
CiCi - We are exposed to germs from a Uni and 2 schools - if it is out there we meet it :-( At least I knew she was painting this time - sometimes I get home and find a room has had a make-over while I was at work. She likes to see how long it takes me to notice...
Sharing camera tricks would be good!
