Honeymoon

Mrs RC and I did not have a honeymoon.

We took our time getting around to a wedding.  We had been together for 16 years and had 4 kids when we finally "tied the knot".  Life was busy and we were just not in a position to take time away on our own.

But now we can do it and are making plans.

Mrs RC wants to go somewhere warm - we are both tired of this long winter and the thought of having a week in the sun away from everything is just amazingly exciting.

Where are we going?

That is a no-brainer.

We want this to be as stressfree as possible, so going somewhere familiar (to me at least) would be good.  In fact I am off there again soon, with work - hoping to find time for a bit of a recce for our trip this summer...

We don't want to have to learn a new language or face problems talking to the locals...

We both love history, so a place with a lot of that would be good...

Good local food is also a bit thing - we like our food...

We didn't want to be on stupidly long flights, either...

So, if you haven't already guessed, we are going to Malta.

All boxes ticked!

This is gonna be good...

Outstanding! I was wondering if it was going to be Malta. Since you have been there a time or two, you get to serve as guide? I know you two honeymooners will have a great time down there this summer!

How perfect! I am so excited for you guys! The planning and anticipation is almost as fun as the trip itself, isn't it? And how cool that you get to scope it out again on a work trip. Should be a great honeymoon for a well deserving couple!

Sounds wonderful! I am in desperate need of a holiday with some warm sunshine, can I come with you? I promise to be good.

Agg79 - Yep, we thought it was ideal, but I did have to promise not to do any "short cuts"...

ShadowRun300 - Thanks, we have had a great time checking out the hotels on offer but settled on one that I know is good.

wigsf - I will if I see one.

Shammickite - No you can't - Me and Mrs RC only, no Gooseberries :-)

I think doing things the non-traditional way makes you interesting. Keeps people guessing. Malta sounds like the perfect place for your honeymoon.

Excellent choice, Romantic RC! I remember your great photos from your last Maltese trip. Maybe you'll spot the elusive Maltese dog!

Abby - Hm might have to resume the hunt for the Maltese Terrier...
