Weekend

Mrs RC's birthday was extended, first into Saturday and then into Sunday too.

We had a very nice time, taking it really easy, recharging after recent events.

On Saturday we went out for a meal, which was really good.  Not able to make up my mind what I wanted, I went for the Ultimate Mixed Grill.  Mmmmmm.  Just about managed to stuff it all down with room for a dessert too.

Sunday, I made pizzas.  I love making pizzas as I am sure you know by now.  Here they are waiting to go into the oven, along with Shiny Red Kettle which our daughter bought for Mrs RC's birthday.

Left over dough gets made into dough balls...

I forgot to take a pic of the finished pizzas until I had eaten a load of mine, but here is a pic of what was left of mine.

Mmm, very tasty.

Hey, guess what?  Mrs RC and I might be getting going on our Honeymoon this summer!  Yes, as usual we are doing things backwards but we finally feel that we are now in a situation where just the 2 of us can head off for some time together.  Probably going to knock Gettysburg back to next year but, hey, got to be worth it!  Mr and Mrs RC spending time in the sun...

Now I understand why Mrs RC loves your pizza so much! Those look incredible!
And how awesome that you're finally getting a honeymoon! It's definitely well deserved! Gettysburg will still be there next year - and by then, it'll be even MORE historical. :)
Would love to hear where you're going!

Riot Kitty - We LIKE pizza!

ShadowRun300 - Not going anywhere too daring, playing it safe in fact - will do a post about it.

What an awesome pizza! With all those ingredients, no wonder you guys love pizza. Great that you two are going on a honeymoon this summer. SR's right - Gettysburg will still be there next year. I hope you get lots of time together in the sun.

Gosh, that looks yummy! Aw, what a brilliant idea to finally escape away, just the two of you - something to look forward to, eh? And I love, love, love that gorgeous red kettle up there - very stylish.

Agg79 - Yes, we love to pile on the toppings. Really looking forward to this new trip!

Shrinky - Glad you like the kettle. This new trip is largely down to Mrs RC reading your blog and talking to you - mega thanks for the inspiration!

Whoa, your pizzas look way better than what the pizza dude delivers!
An official honeymoon sounds like a great idea! I think Magnum and I should do the same as we never took one. I "joke" and say we've just been on 23-year-long one. But that's getting old. Maybe if I make pizza!

Abby - Yes, follow our example - have a honeymoon! Home made pizza is easy and wonderful. My kids banned bought pizza for a long time...

I have no need for a tea kettle but find myself wanting one. It's pretty!

The pizzas look great! Personally I think it's all in the crust. Do you prebake the crust or just pile all the toppings on and bake it in the oven?

A honeymoon sounds like a much better idea than a crazy, rambling, chaotic trip to the states! :-)

Terri - Everything gets piled onto the raw dough base and then blasted in the oven. Yes, we are both really fired up about the honeymoon idea - will be looking at hotels tonight!

Meleah Rebecca - Indeed it is - more on that as soon as I find time...
