Life is Good

We are now having my favourite kind of autumn/winter weather.

Dry, crisp cold with a wonderfully bright sun.

This is perfect for cycling, and the morning ride to work is pure joy with the new gears and stuff on my bike.

Some of the plants are still hanging in there too...

I love these little flowers.  I love them so much that, even through I still do not know what they are, I have had my last pic of one put onto my bank card.  Call it vanity, but I think it is much nicer than the standard colour that my bank uses.

I have been doing some work on my trip and I am still trying to get to grips with the sheer size of the USA and Canada - the distances are so vast compared with over here.  Time-wise, internal flights are so tempting, but I get the feeling that I will be missing out on so much if I do that.  More investigation needed, I think!

Canada is big and mostly empty.
The US is not as big and not as empty.

Wigsf - Yes I can see that - but one of my MUST DO stops is in Edmonton!

I don't envy your trip planning at all. It must be incredibly difficult to determine the must-sees when there really is so many of them. I'm in the Midwest and will gladly offer suggestions if you plan to be in this neck of the woods.
What a great idea to put that pic on your bank card! Does it make spending money less painful?

I am 1739.74 kilometers southeast of Edmonton. (I checked!) Hope that fits in the travel schedule!

Glad to hear you are enjoying the weather these days and that the flowers are still hanging in there. Your flower picture was a beauty. Great idea to put it on your check card!

That does sound like work, how to choose?!
I hear Colorado is a nice place to bike ride :).
Speaking of which, do we ever get to see a photo of your transportation? I'm rapt with curiosity!

ShadowRun300 - Thanks, I am currently torn between how to get from Memphis to Minneapolis...

Terri - It certainly does fit in - that is by far the longest leg of my trip, so I will almost certainly fly it.

Riot Kitty - We have clouds today, so maybe you already have it?

Abby - A photo of my bike? It is a bit of an old workhorse, so maybe if I give it a wash... And I might be changing flights in Denver, on my way from Minneapolis to Edmonton. What is Denver like?

Really, Rock, if you are going to post some really sharp looking pictures like that, you ought to tell us the name of said Flora.

Glad to hear you are researching and mapping out the trek. From your trip itinerary, you've got lots of places to see, big and small. Have you locked down your flights and destinations, yet?

Not quite locked down yet, but working on it.

Regarding the flower, I have now been told that it is a wild corn flower.
