Friday!

Phew, made it to the end of the week.

It has been a busy week, and more tiring than usual.  You see the gears on my bike have reached the end of their days and keep slipping if I apply too much pressure.  This means that I am constantly riding a couple of gears lower than I am used to, and my legs are flying around in an attempt to get up a decent speed.  Not my favourite way of riding!

Never mind, I only have to get home tonight and then take the bike to the shop in the morning and it will all be sorted for next week.  Can't wait, I need to be able to use the high gears again...

The journey home in the evening is now in complete darkness.

That is the moon shining through the trees.  I do make sure I am visible, though, having 4 red lights at the back and 2 white lights at the front....

Other than getting the bike fixed, I am planning on a very lazy weekend - a bit of toy soldier time, some guitar time, some cooking, some snuggling on the sofa watching trashy movies.  Ooooh yeah!

This week marks the half way point in my son's first term at Uni. He seems to have adapted very well - feeding himself sensibly and within his budget, keeping up with his studying, doing his washing, etc.  He is mixing with others but not partying - he is not interested in that.  He is there to study, and his idea of relaxation is to play online games for a few hours with his friends and little brother.  I can't argue with that, to be honest.

PS - Looks like I have been talked into doing Movember.  I happened to have a shave a couple of days ago, so I am starting from a slight stubble.  Will post photos of my progress...

Sounds like some great weekend plans! I often run in the dark, but I think it would be quite scary to ride in the dark. Glad to hear you're well lit!
You must be incredibly proud of your son! Chalk that up to some good parenting skills! ;)

I had the gear slippies a while back - nerve wracking! Nothing like pumping up a hill and having that obnoxious *kaCHUNK* every few pedals. And thanks for clarifying that you're well lit, that commute is dark!
Your son at "Uni" sounds a lot like our son at "Uni", mid-terms and all.

Happy weekend, let the trashy movies commence!

Your son sounds like my little bro, apart from the feeding himself sensibly...he's an introvert who totally forgets about food, says he's not hungry, then eats an entire box of mac and cheese (one of the few things he will eat) in one sitting. But he's 16, so I'll give it some time ;)

Wow, that's a dark ride! But the moon has been incredible the past few days, hasn't it? Bet your legs will be happy come next week when the gears are all fixed!

Don't you just breathe a little sigh of relief to know that your son is comfortable at Uni and doing well? Those first few weeks and months are a little worrisome!

ShadowRun300 - Thanks, we did try our best.

Abby - Yes, drives me insane! kaCHUNK, grind grind...

Riot Kitty - Yes, at 16 he is still a baby - the next couple of years seems to bring a lot of change.

Terri - "A little worrisome"? Wow talk about understatement! Are you sure you're not English? :-)

Hope you get those gears fixed. Slipping gears can really cause some nasty falls, if you are not careful. Hope the weekend has gone well and you've gotten some trashy movies out of the way. Cannot wait to see your Movember status. You need to post pictures of your progress.

I wish I'd taken photos of MY exodus, but I was in a hurry to get it over with, my doctor upped my supply of "I can't take it any more" pills, and it was just a giant fubar blur.
