Too much to think about...

Lots of stuff going on at the moment - freshers arrive today, I return to studying next week, the kids are settling at school and doing lots of stuff...

Most of Saturday was spent on a very theraputic rebuild of our rabbit runs.  Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom have now been sorted out for the coming winter, safe from wind and rain but still able to get outside if they want to.  They also have dirt boxes that they can dig around in, which is proving really popular.

Custard got a bit jealous of all this work devoted to his rivals, and when we went indoors he sat looking mornfully at his bed, so we gave him fresh cushion covers, fluffed it all up nicely and gave him a treat or two and he was happy.

Here is a question for you!

How can someone spend years trying to do the right thing and still end up with some people seeing them as The Bad Guy?  Nah, enough of that, done with it now...

Sad how relatives always seem to have the power to hurt, and the irrationality to abuse it shamelessly (I am assuming it IS a relative). Your dog, bunnies, wife, children and fellow bloggers love you - you must have got most of it right. (Hugs)

"Good" is in the eye of the beholder...so is "bad."

If it is the right thing to do, just do it (if you are the nice guy). We are not here to be famous, aren't we?

Nice bunnies, good dog, decent people :)

Shrinky - Can't hide anything from you, can I?

Sparky - Very true!

Shadowthorne - My feeling exactly - right isn't always popular, I guess!

Most dogs are like that. Regular attention hounds. Give them some attention, a walk and a treat and all is forgiven.

Sadly, doing the right thing does not always make you the good guy. There are lots of tough/hard choices we all have to make in life and we have to keep in mind that it's not always a popularity contest.

Agg79 - Yeah, not wanting to win popularity contests, but being crapped on for doing the right thing sticks in the throat a bit. Still, as I said, I am done with it now. Dogs are so much easier to deal with...

See...that's how you KNOW you are doing the right thing...people are not happy with you...if everyone was happy and thought...errr...KNEW you were the good guy than chances are you were compromising somewhere. Does that make sense? I can relate...my "friend" issue that I mentioned on my blog a few weeks ago...I KNOW I'm doing the right thing and of course am made out to be the 'bad guy'...such is life. Looking "right" in her eyes would mean compromising so much and life would definately not be better. Someone once told me that nobody has a 100% approval rating and this is true. Always do the right thing and allow the approval ratings to fall where they may. Ok...talking to myself here!!!!

Oh and Custard...those doggies have a way with their eyes that just "gets ya" doesn't it?! :)

Teresa - Yes, I can see that you are in a similar situation, and I see that our choice has been the same! I think we both deserve a big cheer! YAY US! :-)

When I read what you wrote I thought of the following which I had read recently. Charles Coslson served in prison for the Watergate scandal. From the book How Now Shall We Live? by Charles Colson:
The last question was the toughest by far. "Mr. Colson," said a master sergeant, "which is more important-loyalty or integrity?"
Now, a marine lives by the creed semper fidelis-"always faithful"- and when I was a marine, I learned that loyalty meant unquestioning obedience. Yet I wish I had pondered the young sergeant's question when I was in the Nixon White House. For now I know the answer.
"Integrity comes first," I said. Loyalty, no matter how admirable, can be dangerous if it is invested in an unworthy cause.
