Cloning husbands/wives?

My dream about having 2 Mrs RCs prompted this quick post.

What would be the benefitsproblems of having multiple partners?
(I will keep this clean, avoiding bedroom matters, OK?)

Well for a start, you could have one go out to work and keep the other at home to look after the house/kids/etc.

Or you could send them BOTH out to work and stay at home yourself!

Chores would be split, making everyone's life a bit easier.

But they might not get on very well. This could cause problems. Would they be looking for signs of favouritism, like jealous siblings?

If we are talking multiple wives, the chances are they would go through PMS at the same time, which could be really nasty! Holy crap, suddenly this is all a lot less appealing!

What about make up, clothes, etc? Would they share like twins or would they need their own? 2 of everything could make a real dent in the finances - perhaps all 3 would need to work afterall!

Zig has suggested that the chances of being caught doing something bad are also doubled, and given that this will incur the wrath of both spouses this is NOT A GOOD THING!

I just had another thought - what if they snore? (Thinking of one reader in particular here...)

So, what do you think?

If they were EXACT clones, then they would in theory get a long pretty well. They would have the same things that bug them, so they would both do things they like, which means the other would like it too - they would have the same taste in clothes, make-up, food, etc - so they could share everything :) Hm... although - that means you'd have to make sure you always super behaved! twice the wife = twice the chance of getting in trouble for something! hehe

Zig - an excellent point - twice the chance of getting caught and twice the trouble when you do!

If they snored, it would never work out.
You would need two couches in the living room, or a king size bed in the spare bedroom....

I would think having two wives would be a dream come true! Now, on the other hand... two husbands? Cruel and unusual punishment.

have you ever seen that movie... multiplicity w/ michael keaton?? where he's cloned or whatnot? funny and cute... but would show you all the probs one could run into.

i think you've hit on several key areas... PMS wouldn't be fun, jealousy, forget sharing clothes and make-up, and snoring... where you planning to sleep w/ both of them in the same bed?! ;) even clones, i would imagine, might get irritated w/each other... how easy is it to get along w/ someone so much like oneself??

this is cute....

Hey, why is everyone just talking about two wives here? I think having two husbands would be more work!

Sure, women go through PMS, and we're a little more high maintenance, but in general, many men (not all, but many) are like children, and children are work.

I REALLY don't need another child to pick up after and worry about,a baby and one man-child is more than enough, thankyouverymuch ;)

i would have to agree w/ ali 100%!!! i think men are way more work!

Chris - Sound-proofing might also be in order!

Terri - Probably correct on both counts. Cruel and unusual punishment? Love that line - can't remember where I have heard it before...

Um Naief - I think I saw that but liked Mr Mom a lot more. You are right that clones might not get on - my wife believes that people who are very alike often don't get on.

Ali - Men like children? Right there! Mrs RC tends to count me as one of the kids...

Um Naief - Is this the start of a feminist back-lash? :-)
