Graduation
Had my graduation ceremony yesterday. It was great to meet up with the old gang again.
Mrs RC had a great time, being seated in the VIP area and getting the best view in the house. An honorary doctorate was given to Moira Stuart, Britain's first black female news reader who has worked for around 40 years. She was sitting 2 seats from Mrs RC.
The weather was utterly freezing, so our group photos outside are hilarious, with us huddling like penguins half the time! But, hey, at least it wasn't windy or raining...
Finally, if you think the tie looks out of place on me, you are right This is the first time I have warn a tie in 30 years. The next one will probably be the one they bury me in :-)

So happy for Mrs. RC and SO happy for you! What a proud day for you both!
I must say, you clean up quite nice! It's an honor to see you in a tie. Let's hope it's a long time before you have to wear another....
I was thinking the tie is not the right look for you.
Seriously. I was going to make a snarky comment about the tie. You beat me to it.
SR300 - Thanks. Scrape off the pony poop...
wigsf - Sorry to spoil your fun ;-)
Once again, Congratulations, Old Man! It may not be your style, but you pull it off well. Although I was kind of looking for a Star Wars tie. Hope it is quite a long while before you have to don another tie.
Congratulations!! On your graduation and the tie!!!
Even though four yards of fabric went into making that tie, you are to be commended for a successful completion of your studies and Mrs. RC is probably bursting with pride....and her close proximity to others sitting nearby.
An exciting day for you and for Mrs. RC! Congratulations! I've always admired the fact that you were able to manage your studies and still enjoy the rest of your life. When I think about going back to school, I always picture myself in constant misery, never having a bit of fun or relaxation.
You look very nice in a suit and tie, and of course, your graduation garb!
Congrats! When did you grow the beard? BTW, Mr. RK didn't wear a tie when we got married. :)
Looking good! Quite scholarly! I'm sure Mrs. RC enjoyed the VIP treatment, just two seats from Oprah of the UK no less! Big Congratulations! Go forth and conquer!
(and for the record, I have never worn a tie)
Agg79 - The tie was very last minute. If I had planned it I am sure that R2D2 would have been there...
Kimberley - Thanks! Great to see you again!
Lotta Joy - Yes, Mrs RC was very proud.
Terri - I think that studying is very rewarding, but I think I had an unfair advantage in that I was really doing it just for the fun of it!
Riot Kitty - I grew the beard immediately after Movember was over.
Abby - Thanks - I felt a bit of an idiot in the outfit...
Big fat congratulations on your graduation! And I think that tie looks GREAT on you!!
