All I want for Christmas....

I got home last night to find that a lot of the Christmas decorations were already up! The living room is done and the kids have got their trees up in their bedrooms! All I need to do is the hall and Pooh's Grotto!

It was so nice last night, sitting there with the tree lights on,so warm and cozy...

This morning was NOT warm and cozy. There is snow in the north, but all we have is icy winds and rain - the sort of combination that makes your face hurt, and I had this in my face for the entire journey this morning :-(

By the time I reached Canterbury I was wondering if I was clinically insane. I stopped at a junction where there was another cyclist - also doubting his own mind! Oh well, at least we are happy - sanity seems to make people more miserable, don't you think?

Lunchtime update:

The weather has now cleared - we have blue skies and warm sunshine, perfect Christmas shopping weather, in fact! Staggered back under a big bag of goodies...

I think you're on to something there....I've certainly laughed a lot more since being in this insane nursing program!

being insane definitely makes life more interesting! there's nothing mundane and boring about your life when you are completely out of your mind!

your decorations sound so lovely:) warm and cozy... we'll probably get our tree next week,

Insanity! What a concept! I'm going to join you. In fact I may have already. I went for a run this morning. It is VERY cold, the wind is blowing, there's a light layer of snow on the ground and I think my nose was forming snotsicles as I ran. But now that I'm home in my nice warm little house, I feel ready to take on the world! Do I qualify as insane???

How wonderful to come home to a festive house! I was missing a few things after we decorated on Sunday, then came home Monday to find the kids had found what I was looking for and put it up!

I'm still highly unmotivated to do any shopping, however.

Anytime we're home, the tree is lit. It is such a warm and cozy feeling. I think it has also contributed to me being so super excited about Christmas this year!

If only we could be as healthy. . . errr. . . as insane as you! [Though I am thinking that my group run tonight will be pretty close to freezing. Oh boy.]

Insanity is the only thing that keeps me sane :)

And could I possibly hire your family to come do my decorating for me? I still haven't even bothered to drag anything out...

Perserverance is what's behind that "insane" feeling. Every inch you take, despite the elements, is progress. It's accomplishment. It makes us whole to push ourselves beyond limits and then enjoy the fruits of our labors (in my case, leg cramps, sore muscles, runny nose, a quicker time, and an clear head :).

tz - There you go! Welcome to the club!

Kenady - Hope you find a nice tree. It is a long time since I went out tree hunting.

Terri - Anyone who admits to getting snotsicles must be at least borderline! :-) Get out and do some shopping, that is certain to push you over the edge into total insanity!

Jen - Running in the cold is just as bad, and it has been clear for some time that you are a nutter :-)

Ali - Your insanity keeps you sane? I like it! You don't need my family to decorate for you - just think of the fun little E would have "helping"!

Miss Got Wings - You were commenting just while I was replying to the others! I like your definition - makes me feel a little mess mad, but not totally.

is there such a thing as sanity or is that more like denial?

Kate - Done it. Many thanks for the invitation!

Jenelle - What a fabulous thought! Shines a whole different light on things doesn't it?
