Still full of beans...

Just a quick post today. Thanks for all of the comments about my Full of Beans post. With a bit of digging I have found this site:

http://www.fullofbeans.co.nz/

Where you come from will determine whether you think this is a good name for a healthfood store!

hmmmm... i think it's a strange name for a health food store. not really sure why someone would choose that name... unless it were full of beans! ;)

I think it's a great name for a health food store! It's funny and unique, so people won't easily forget it.

Um Naief - Well assuming they are using the English interpretation of the phrase it makes a lot of sense - eat our food and you will feel great, have lots energy, etc!

Terri - Certainly memorable!

All this talk of beans got me thinking about the phrases my family would use. And I think even in other parts of the U.S. these might be unfamiliar. But I told you that here, "Full of beans" means "full of sh*t." There were nicer ways of saying the same thing:

"Full of malarkey" - (I have no idea what "malarkey" is)

and

"Full of baloney"

Just curious if you hear those around there?

Terri - We have "That's a load of baloney" (ie rubbish) and "It was a real malarkey", meaning that something involved a lot of messing around. Interesting stuff. Might do some more on this!
