At the weekend I became aware that my wife and I had reversed our roles in the house.
I tend to view the weekend as serious wind-down time, while my wife sees it as a time to take on those chores that she missed during the week.
With her resting and household chores now being my department, the weekend saw my wife on the sofa catching up on the end of series 3 of Lost and then watching the start of series 4, while I was the one tackling the bathroom, cleaning, cooking, shopping, ironing, etc. The final realisation came when I sat down and fretted that there was something that I should be doing but was not.
"Sit down and have a rest", was my wife's view. That was my line! I am the one that spends my time telling HER to sit and rest while she frets that she has forgotten something that desperately needs to be done.
Hm, wonder how long this will last? To tell the truth, I am quite enjoying it! It is certainly a good experience, maybe more guys should try it! They might learn the importance of having colour coordinated tissue boxes...

I hope Chris decides to read this post...
Wow maybe I will have that kinda luck when finding a man! whoo! You Rock! LOL.
I try to explain this to all those people out there who see me as a non-working/unemployed woman. For some reason they think I sit around eat bon-bon's, drink champagne and watch salacious movies all day.
Which would be nice, BUT I AM DOING CHORES, ERRANDS, LAUNDRY, CLEANING, RENOVATIONS, DOG POO PATROL AND SHOPPING among other things. I keep our house running regardless of whether or not we have children.
end rant. I'm glad someone understands. Thanks for making my day.
I am pooped just reading this! But I am secretly wishing my hubby would do the same ;-)
Rock Chef - I'm so proud of you! You could be sitting here and complaining about your wife's normal attitude, but instead you are fully immersing yourself in her role and gaining an appreciation for her perspective. You've just attained superhero status in my eyes. Gah! I just want to hug you! Bet your wife is considering herself one very lucky woman! Gosh... I may have just learned a lesson about how I might trying seeing things through my hubby's eyes... whoa!
You're one amazing man Rock Chef!! Your wife sure is lucky to have you!! I am also a very fortunate woman as Chuck is much like you. Rock Chef Rocks!!!
I love that instead of bemoaning the work, you are throwing yourself into it and appreciating your wife's contribution in the process!! I think you are fab, but I'll bet your wife tells you that all the time...keep up the good work!!!

Rock,
Great job! We all need to share the load with our significant others. Good luck and best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery.
Yes, I am a lucky girl, Chris is better than most of the husbands out there - at least that's what I hear from other wives!
With him it's all about the lists - if I don't give him a list he does absolutely nothing, put a piece of paper in front of him with things to do, and he's happy to check them off!
You're pretty special Rock Chef!
