Looking up!

Had a call today - it seems that my dad's birds have been moved by one of my brothers, so tomorrow will be a much nicer day clearing stuff from the old garden instead. Collecting up old garden ornaments, bird baths, digging up some plants that are to be moved to the new garden, etc. In an odd way, I am rather looking forward to it. I am not really a gardener but I find the thought of transplanting things rather exciting - will they live or die?

The thing that I find most encouraging is that we should finally finish tomorrow, leaving the weekend clear which is great because it is my wife's birthday on Saturday and Mother's Day on Sunday. A whole weekend of official spoiling and pampering, which will be great if we can pull it off. Maybe we will just disappear so no-one can find us, he, he. Well we will be disappearing for at least part of Saturday as I intend to take my wife to a really great art shop that I have found so we can stock up on stuff for her paintings. We will all have to go for a nice meal somewhere too, but we tend to play that off the cuff as planned restaurant visits almost always go horribly wrong for us.

Changing the subject completely, I have been thinking about doing some work on my V bass guitar - a new pick up or 2 to boost the sound, a new paint job, something like that. Maybe just having "Rock Chef" written across it in silver? Something more exciting? Suggestions welcome!

What an awesome turn of events! It's nice to hear you're looking forward to what's left for you to do. And Happy Birthday to Mrs. Rock Chef! Spoil her good!

Mother's day is in March over there? Weird. Here it is in May.

Oh well, score an extra one for your wife - woohoo!

I know it's been said, but Mother's day in March? When's Father's day?

Transplanting can be exciting. Usually my question is, "WHEN will the transplanted thing die". I have a black thumb.

I would comment on your planned work on your V bass guitar, but I don't know exactly what that is - and usually when Zig is talking about doing stuff to his guitar, I just nod and say, "sounds good! yeah, do that!... wait... how much is it going to cost?" But... if I were you, I would do something visual, so I could take a "before" and "after" picture. :) Bloggers like that.

Your wife is super lucky to have you to spoil her! Happy Birthday and Mother's Day to her! Have fun:)

Don't know much about guitars, but I'm sure whatever you choose to do will be perfect!

If you need gardening advice, talk to my mom. She's a gardening whiz. Her whole hand is green......

I like gardening. It's almost like meditating for me. Good Luck! Ricky and I used to rent a hotel room a few blocks from our house to hide. It was fun! ;) Father's Day in Australia is on a different day than here too. I think Mother's Day is the same though. Happy Birthday and Mother's Day to your wife! Can't wait to see the pictures of your guitar! I like the rock chef thing!

Terri - All done now! Going to spoil her rotten...

Ali - I would expect the USA to have a different day, but I thought Canada was more likely to follow us. Damn, we are losing our grip on you...

Jen - Yep, it certainly made my life a lot easier!

Zig - I certainly will!

Logzie - I guess a cunning person could arrange to be in different countries to take advantage of this! "Let's pop to NY for the weekend. Ooh look, it's Mothers Day! What a nice surprise!"

Jahooni - No, not at the moment, but if/when she does I will post a gallery and take offers!

Alyssa - my wife is great at transplanting things, they almost always thrive, even if moved at the "wrong time". Will certainly post pics if and when I do anything exciting to the V.

Kenady - Thanks. My initial thought involves a couple of chrome plates...

Chris - Get her blogging!

Krista - I think my wife sees gardening that way. Our Fathers Day is in June. You really went and "got a room"? We keep talking about that but never do it. Maybe some day soon...
