Head in the Clouds

I am often accused of living with my head in the clouds.

Of course, at this time of year it can be a pretty spectacular place to be...

We have had a lot of rain in the last few days, so cuddling up in bed has its attractions too...

I primised some toy soldier photos, so here is one of Sunday's Work in Progress.   Here are some of my new Scottish army with a few modifications - new cloaks, new reinforcements for helmets, wings on one helmet, and a couple of more radical changes with new hair and beards, awaiting new arms too!  Note my finger, to give a sence of scale.

This is getting addictive, so I might take the step of creating a whole army from scratch next, designing the master figures and then finding a way of getting them cast.  Could be good!  We will see.  Maybe I just have my head in the clouds again?

We are having lots of rain here today, so like your dog, my cat and I are snuggling and snoozing today. I like your photos of the clouds, it is so dark here I can't get any photos and anyway, it is just black skies right now. Good thing most of the farmers were able to finish harvest before the rain this week. If you start designing toy soldiers, you may have a whole new career!

CiCi - I almost did that a long time ago, but I struggled with some aspects and had people expecting instant results. Another case of avoiding turning a hobby into a business!

The skies ARE beautiful this time of year. I was just admiring ours this morning. So colorful. And you've captured it so well on 'film'!
Thanks for the army pics! Seems like it would require more patience than I could ever muster. but I enjoy seeing your creations come together! Making your own? That's impressive!

ShadowRun300 - I have to be in the mood to do this stuff - just like most creative things, I guess!

Riot Kitty - Yes, Custard is very photogenic...

Great shots of the sky, and I love that Custard has a teddy bear! That's some delicate work for those soldiers.

Abby - Custard loves his toys - sadly, Rabbit had to go to the toy box in the sky, so we took him to a charity shop where he chose this bear and then carried him home.

That just melted my heart. How sweet that you allowed Custard to choose his toy.

I had no idea you had such beautiful sunsets where you live. I thought it was always overcast and polluted!!

You are indeed lucky if you can paint such minuscule figurines. I can hardly seeing them using my enlarged screen!!

ShadowRun300 - Yes, they are like children really!

Lotta Joy - We used to get better sunsets when London was more polluted - the sun shining through the smog made wonderful colours...

This is a great time of year for the skies, isn't it? You've had some beautiful scenery in your skies! Nice shots.

The fall weather must make the dogs feel cuddly. Lucy suddenly wants to lay in my lap again. She hasn't done that all summer.

Terri - Yes, Frou usually wants cuddles, but Bryn is also wanting to join in now too. Custard never wants long term cuddling, he likes some fuss and then finds somewhere to spread out to sleep.
