I had forgotten about that....

Yes, it is Autumn - cooler days, beautiful trees, rain....

and WIND!

Yes, they cyclist's bane!

How could I have forgotten about that!

This morning was a classic.

The wind was howling straight in my face all the way to work.  It even conspired to blow down the road through the woods, which is normally sheltered!

But I am a veteran of many years of this sort of thing, so I slogged along regardless.

I only had 2 stops.

The first was when my chain came off, a reminder to get the bike into the shop for a new chain and stuff - the gears are reaching that stage where they look fore like rotary saw blades than gears.  Poor things.

The second stop was more pleasant - I took the time to stop and take a photo or 2.

From here it is all down hill to work, and the can of Pepsi that was waiting for me.

Have a great day - hope that you don't have to battle any head winds, real or metaphorical!

We had an incredibly windy day here too! It was tough keeping my car in line. Thank goodness I don't bike to work!
Beautiful sunrise though! Glad you took a minute to enjoy the sites. But you're a Pepsi guy? I much prefer Coke.

ShadowRun300 - I drink both Coke and Pepsi, depending on which has the best promotion offer going on. Purely on taste, I go Cherry Coke, Pepsi, Coke.

It's been rainy & windy over here too! And as much as I love the cooler temps - I could do without the wind!!

Stop #2 seems like a really good reward for having battled all that wind. I dislike wind in general. I hated running in it. But maybe if there were a Pepsi waiting for me afterwards, I wouldn't have minded so much!

What? It's windy there?!! No, I thought Oklahoma was the windiest place on Earth! But, I do love an icy cold coke, so cold there are ice crystals in the bottle.

The bane of our existence indeed. I'm not much of a pop drinker, but if it makes the wind less windy, bottoms up!

Happy new cranks!

My spit kit is in the mail on the way! I will let you know if I am related to anyone in Kent. :)

I am constantly amazed at your strength to ride your bike to work every day no matter what the weather. If it is cold I drive the few blocks to the senior center here, I am such a big chicken. Cherry coke is one of my faves too.

Rain and wind here too yesterday but today is shaping up to be sunny, although cool.... currently 1 degree C outside! I think it's time to get out and clean up my potted plants and hanging baskets that I laughingly call a garden, make everything nice and tidy before the snow flies!
