The Long Weekend in Photos

The weather leading up to the weekend was not promising.

But on Saturday, Mrs RC and I went for a walk along the seafront and had a picnic.  This is an area that we haven't been to together in many years, but when we were first together we spent hours strolling along here with our dogs, chatting and really getting to know each other and, I guess, falling in love.

On the way back we fed the birds.

Sunday was also a grand day - these pics of the morning dog walk give an idea of the day ahead.  Above, Mrs RC is waiting for me to stop fiddling with my camera and catch up, while below, Custard is sniffing one of the many sniffs to be had in this field.

The field has been left to go totally wild for the last 2-3 years, allowing some splendid plants to settle in.

On Monday, Mrs RC and our daughter did some work on our rather small front garden while I relaxed and wrote another scene or 2 for my book.  Here you can see Custard "helping" with the mowing...

Today the rain is back!  Amazing, it usually conspires to ruin out long weekends, but not this time...

What beautiful pictures! So glad the rain stayed away for a couple of days so you could enjoy the long weekend! We weren't so lucky.
Never seen a lawn mower like the one you have... Looks like it's perfect for your front garden.

ShadowRun300 - that is our little push along mower - no engine, the blades spin when you push it along. Cuts really well, so long as you only have a small garden.

Looks like a picture-perfect weekend! I'm glad you were able to enjoy some sun. You have great places for taking walks. We have lots of pavement, which isn't a bad thing. But it would be nice to be able to stroll through grass.

Custard is such a sweetie! Is that a toy tiger he's holding onto?

What a lovely place! How far is that from where you guys live? The purple flower pic is amazing, and Custard is very cute, btw.

Abby - Yes, we have had plenty of rain...

Terri - Yes that is a tiger, his new favourite toy after his bear finally died.

Riot Kitty - The beach is a couple of miles away, the fields are a couple of hundred yards away. Yes, Custard is cute and knows it...

Great photos! Glad to see spring has finally showed up over there and you are able to enjoy the flora and fauna with Mrs RC and the dogs. Custard looks pretty attached to Tiger.

Agg79 - We are back to rain, but at least it is fairly warm now. Yes, Custard loves his tiger.

Looks like you and Mrs RC and Custard had a nice walk and I like your description of the place you and Mrs RC walked and talked as you were getting to know each other long ago.
