My new toy

How things change.

Below is a photo of my bass amps:

The one behind is my old one.  It is from the late '70s/early 80s, and puts out upto 65 watts when really cranked up.  Both parts weigh an absolute ton.

In front is the new one.  This one does 400 watts and also has loads of built in clever stuff.  It also weighs less that each part of the old amp.  And it is loud - even turned down low I could feel the floor vibrating - and our floor is made of concrete!

I will try to post a video to show off how wonderful it is very soon.

Ooooh. I said it before. Shiny.
Nice amp and you got it on sale too boot! That makes the deal even more sweeter. Now you need a new guitar to go with the new gear...

Agg79 - yes, there are a couple that are tempting me, but that will wait until after the dissertation is handed in.

You have been very patient it seems. The new amp will get lots of use I am sure. Let the concrete floor rock.

A successful first order! I'm guessing this will be the first of many now. Looking forward to hearing how it sounds!
And since you seem to be a bunny aficionado, hubby and I were wondering if it's safe to move 'our' nest of bunnies to another location or a cage to keep them safe from the dogs. We're not sure if they still need their mother or not. Does the mom still come back to them you think?

CiCi - Have to balance rocking with keeping the neighbours sweet :-)

ShadowRun300 - The mother should be returning to them a couple of times a day to feed them until they can feed themselves OK, which might not be for a couple of weeks by the sound of it. Maybe you could do some sort of fence that would keep the dogs out but let the mother go in and out, but even that might put her of returning to the babies. A tough one! By the way, do you have a blog or do you just read them?

Oooh, PRETTY! I hope to hear it soon!

Well, I have no knowledge of amps, but your new one sure looks cool! And if it's shaking a concrete floor, then it's definitely got some power! Can't wait to hear proof of its abilities!

Thanks for the advice Rock Chef! I'm with you - a little afraid to fence it off because I don't want to inhibit the mother. We'll just keep our dog tied up. The neighborhood dogs don't seem to have found them yet.
And yes, I do blog as well. I'm at shadowrun300.wordpress.com, and I think you can find a link on Agg, Abby, or Terri's sites. Don't have any posts on the bunnies, however, but you're more than welcome to stop by! :)
