OK, don't get me wrong, I know that temporary traffic lights are a great invention - they stop people crashing into holes in the road that have been dug so that our drains etc can be fixed. They also help to prevent games of chicken when part of a road has been blocked off for some reason.
But why were those lights there? There was no hole! There was no digger waiting for tomorrow's digging! There wasn't even a pile of pipes waiting to be connected to the sewage system, eager to transport our bodily waste to the treatment centre! In fact the protected section of road was in immaculate condition. Perhaps this is a new way of stopping our roads wearing out so quickly?
Anyway so there were the lights in all their glory, guiding the traffic around a perfectly clear section of road. But you forgot one thing.
Can you remember what you forgot to do before you went home for dinner?
I am sure you can if you think hard enough.
No? Well I will tell you then.
You forgot to tell them that they should change colour from time to time - they don't work properly when set permanently to RED!

Yep been there waiting at temporary lights that don't change...totally identify with that post John.
How is Fat Jedi Cat these days?
He is fine - I saw him the other day but he seems to be avoiding the rain today. Will have to stalk him and take some more photos for his blog.
We have plenty of "temporary" traffic issues too, but I have to say I've never seen something like this happen. How frustrating!
Are you serious?? That's too funny!!
Oh I see that the Aussie Council dude has made his way over to you !...that is somthing they would do !!! Grrrrrrrr...LOL
LOL!
I suppose this is not funny, so I won't tell you that I started giggling about the permanent red light. . .
Uh Oh...I've encountered lights like that...only to run them and discover as I'm being pulled over that they work just fine!!! Be careful friend!!!
I could so see myself sitting in front of those light just waiting for them to change colour.
Terri - it was for those in cars, I just got off the bike and walked past it.
Teresa - Would I lie to you?
Sitting in Silence - I told you that you should have run him over!
Kenady - glad you liked it.
Jen - Well I laughed about it - the people in cars were less amused!
Kiki - But you ARE our resident traffic offender, aren't you? Sorry...
Sid - I could see the drivers struggling with it all - some wanting to just run through them, others wanting to wait for something to happen. It was chaos.
