The Great Storm of 2008...

Well it is all over now - top wind speed seems to have been 95mph in Cornwall - much less where I am on the other side of the country. Lots of trees down, cars damaged, a few houses with roof damage, including one where the entire roof came off in one piece, a bit of flooding. No injuries or fatalities that I have heard of either!

Thanks for your concern, I got home easily, just having to duck under or dodge a few branches that were overhanging the road. All in a day's work for the Rock Chef! :-)

I'm glad to hear that you came through it ok! I was surprised at how calm you seemed to be about it all. Severe weather always freaks me out. Tomorrow I get to look forward to driving to work in freezing rain.

Maybe it is the old British "stiff upper lip"?

Actually I find weather like that quite exciting, though I am not as bad as my wife who would like to go chasing tornadoes!
