Thursday? Yeah, I guess it is!

Just had the weekly lunch date with Mrs RC, who also brought along Number One Son.  Once again, we had blazing sunshine while we sat in the garden at the Uni.  Number One Son and I munched cakes (sorry, forgot to take photos) while Mrs RC had something much more healthy.

Mrs RC was very pleased with herself, having found a bottle of Coke with my name on it:

Yes, I am drinking the contents.

Yes I am going to keep the bottle.

Meanwhile, I have finished my first group of spearmen for Macbeth's army.  Some of you are unsure about the size of the soldiers that I paint, so this one has a ruler in it:

These are the scruffy rabble in an army (I have about 100 of them at the moment), but I will be buying the richer guys soon - these aspired to look like Vikings!  Yeah, they really aimed high, didn't they?  I will also be getting a contingent of Irish immigrant mercenaries.....

I love your minis! My husband used to paint mechwarriors and it was fun watching him do it. I can't wait to see the Irish soldiers!
I need to find me a Coke bottle with my name on it now.

Man they are small.

That's adorable about the soda! I'd totally keep that.

Some of our family members have the last name Jones, and of course they save the Jones Soda Company bottles.

My eyes would feel squinty trying to paint such small soldiers!

Cool Coke bottle! I wonder if we have those here?

That's all well and good for somebody named John but what if your name is Cerdic or Horatio or Skippy?

Your own bottle of coke and some cakes. What a great lunch! Really. I'd much rather have dessert than a meal!
I'm bettin' it's relaxing for you to paint those figurines. I wouldn't have the patience for the intricate details. They turned out great!

Personalized pop? I've never heard of such a thing! Congratulations!

Wow, those soldiers are smaller than I thought, thanks for providing the scale. Do you add the "landscaping" too?

Betty - Mechwarriors are fun too - I might do some one day...

wReggie - There are smaller, but these are one of the main sizes used for games.

Riot Kitty - Cool that they can get them all the time!

Terri - I don't know - over here they have made them with the most popular names on them - I got lucky!

Wigsf - Tough luck - none of my kids can get them with their names on :-(

ShadowRun300 - Yes, it is relaxing - I only do it when I am in the mood, so sometimes I rattle through them, while at other times it can take months to finish a batch.

Abby - Yes, I add the rocks and grass to the bases. I also mess round with various bits of scenery to make hills, woods, etc for them to fight over.

Crikey, they are proper tiddlers aren't they? You must have lots of patience and a steady hand.
How come you get a Coke with your name on? recent Coke marketing strategy? I bet I'd never find one with MY name on.. in fact I've never even met another person with my name, let alone seen a bottle of pop with it!!!!!!
