Another delightful lunchbreak in the sun with Mrs RC and my daughter who decided to join us too.
We had been sitting there for a while, watching a bird collecting bits of bread that my daughter was throwing for it, when this thing landed on me:
At first I fell for the camo, thinking he was just a dead leaf, but then I realised that he was alive and crawling up the strap of my camera case, so I fired off a load of pics of him, which he seemed to enjoy.
In retrospect, maybe he was a spy working for these guys:
Which reminds me that I need to get Starship Troopers on DVD...

Those cakes look great! I like the bug, but wonder if he bites. we have green ones here that look similar and they bite like crazy. It leave big welts on my arms if one gets me.
I'm glad you had a nice lunch!
Were the girls just as impressed with the bug? It gives me the willies.
The cakes look awesome though! And how nice that you got to eat lunch with TWO women! You're a lucky guy!
Mmmmmm.... the caaaaakes....
Great photo of Mr. Bug. He knows how to work it!
Betty - The bug didn't seem interested in biting me, which was nice as I seem to taste nice to bugs and things.
ShadowRun300 - Mrs RC thought it was a bit creepy, especially when she though it was going to get into my hair...
Abby - He was a good model - I must have taken a dozen pics from different angles.
Nice cakes. They look tempting.
And your six legged friend is a Halyomorpha halys (stink bug). Definitely a spy from klendathu.
Agg79 - Thank you! I was wondering if someone would know what it was! Stink bug, eh? Not a very nice name, does he deserve it?
It was a drone I was testing and the darn battery ran out. Could you mail it back?
wReggie - Sharn't! :-)
Get Starship Troopers on blu-ray. The explosions were touched up beautifully.
Wigsf - Hm, I guess I will have to upgrade from betamax at some point...
You mean you let that bug land on you without swatting him to death? I'm sure I would have done a little crazy freak-out bug dance if he'd landed on me. Although, the photos wouldn't have been nearly as nice if he'd been squished instead of alive.
I think he probably wanted your cake ;)
Terri - the only bugs that I tend to kill outright are flies and wasps. No, dead bugs don't make good photos do they...
Riot Kitty - Maybe, but he was too late :-(
Stink bug.... crush it and you'll regret it. Peeeeeew!
Shammickite - Hah, glad I was nice to it now!
