Anyway, I am currently bursting with pride because of our youngest son, "Arnie".
2 years ago he was a shy, chubby kid.
Now? Take a look at this (sorry about the quality, blogger has degraded it horribly!):
He is squatting with 341 pounds (155kg) of weights.
At 16 years old, he took part in his first power lifting contest. In the under 20s group, he won 2 categories and came joint 1st in the third. He only failed one of his 12 lifts. If that had succeeded he would have won all three categories.
So yeah, if pride kills I can die happy!
Just go back and watch that video again, will you? Tell me you are not impressed!

Well! All that hard work has paid off! Congratulations to "Arnie".
Abby - Yes, he has done really well. There is a longer video on Facebook showing all of his lifts with the weights shown.
Wow. That's a pretty impressive power lift. And he's only 16. I can only imagine what he'll be pressing by the time he is 18. Pride may be a sin, but I think you've earned it. Kudos.
Well done, you are quite right to be proud of the lad, and I hope he is pleased with his accomplishments so far. But I have to admit, watching the video made my back hurt!! OW!
Oh, I am impressed! Doesn't seem all that long ago that you wrote about Arnie becoming interested in weightlifting, and now here he is winning contests!
That's incredible! You definitely have every right to be proud. And congratulations to "Arnie"! He's come such a long way!
Shammickite - it looks painful, but he was playing it safe.
Terri - Yes, only about a year and a half. Just shows what you can do when you focus!
ShadowRun300 - He certainly has, and is on a real high from it all.
Nothing wrong with being proud of those you love!
