Proud Parent Time!

OK here I go again...

My daughter just had her first proper interview for her first proper job.

She had already passed the filter day, and this was it.

The job involves a lot of maths and statistics, so she revised everything, practiced answering questions to her video camera and just generally prepared for it.

She was really pleased with the interview, then it was test time.  There were a number of people there, but all of the others gradually left during the test.  She was the only one there at the end of the time allowed, which we took as a good sign.

Then she rushed home to await news.

They rang.

And offered her the job!

We are so pleased for her.  Her first real interview for a real job and she nailed it!

And the real bonus?  She will be working just around the corner from me!

Ooh yeah.  Life is good.

That's wonderful news! And to know she earned it by preparing ahead of time makes it that much sweeter. You have every right to brag!
And now Mrs. RC can bring the both of you lunch this summer! :)

ShadowRun300 - indeed she can! Hadn't quite looked that far into the future yet!

Congrats! That really says something for all of her drive and motivation to prep hard for the test and it pays off in the end.

Pride is supposed to be one of the seven deadly sins, but in this case I think you have every right to be proud. Any plans to bike in together?

Agg79 - no, she will be on the bus I am afraid.

Congratulations to her!
Wow, is it customary to have to take a math test for a job interview?
I know of some employers that make candidates fill out psychological profiles - the questions!

Abby - well the job does involve lots of maths and stats, so I guess they wanted to make sure they got someone who could do it.

There is an increasing tendency over here to have role plays and stuff as part of the interview process. One company recently got bad press because applicants were expected to sit and make animal noises!
