Still alive!

Against all the odds, I am still alive after yesterday's shopping trip.

We arrived just after 10am, debussed and headed into the huge mall.

As we had hoped, being mid week it was not very busy, we had no trouble getting around, finding vacant changing rooms or long waits to pay.

It was the sheer size of the place that got Mrs RC and me.  (Our daughter had been there before and knew which shops she really wanted to see.)  It is like a huge triangle with 2 floors. We shopped until 1 o'clock, stopped for lunch (I had a burrito that was nice but not as exciting as I felt it should have been) then carried on for a bit more.  At this stage I pointed out that so far we had only been trawling one side of the triangle....

In the end we probably did about half of it.  Not that this was a problem.  Our daughter had a great day, bought a ton of wonderful stuff, which she proceded to parade for us when we got back.  We are all a bit shell shocked this morning, but we did have a great day.

While wandering around I saw a couple of signs that tickled me.

IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED
TRY DOING IT THE WAY YOU WIFE TOLD YOU TO DO IT

Yes.

The other one - well let's say I was tempted to buy it and send it to a certain blog friend of mine:

IF YOU CAN'T BE NICE
PLEASE LEAVE

Not subtle, is it?

Hope your week is going well!

Back again soon!

Bravo on a successful campaign in the mall wars. As I have gotten older, I tend to avoid the mall unless absolutely necessary. The traffic and crowds alone would drive a monk to curse.

We have a few mega malls over here, but the king is the MOA (Mall of America) up near Terri. The size of a small town - you could find almost anything in that place.

Love the signs.

Agg79 - we did seem to hit a good day - no congestion of cars of people! Mind you, looking at the snaking queue systems in some of the shops, we could easily see how bad things could get...

I think a big mall shopping spree is the perfect gift for an 18-year-old girl's birthday, recollecting when I was one of those. Nicely done! Sorry about the burrito, but sounds like you did all right.

Ha! Those signs are funny. There are days when I'd love to have that second one posted at the desk.
I'm impressed you braved the mall - even during the week. The things we do to show our children we love them....
I thought we'd hear about the doughnuts though. Surely they were much better than the burrito!

Abby - The burrito was good, just not as good as expected. If I go again I will ask for more hot sauce.

ShadowRun300 - Just posted more about the doughnuts, just for you.

Now that sounds like my kind of birthday celebration! Shop til you drop!

Sorry the burrito was disappointing... Mall food isn't known for its quality.

Love both of the signs. I need the second one for a certain coworker! :-)
