More Holiday Snaps

I am sure that at least one person wanted to see more...

My daughter took this one - the cow can't work out how to use this kissing gate...

Frou Frou was very proud of this ball that she found.  I use the term "ball" very loosely...

Evidence of the local low-tech approach to wheel-clamping - if it has had time to set you have been there too long!

Custard settling down with his cuddly rabbit.

Frou Frou keeping the chickens out of our commune.

A mini railway set up.  Seems to have origimally been linked to small coal mines but now used as a toy by local enthusuasts.

Strange and interesting-looking plants in the orchard. (Deadly Nightshade, I have now been told!)

Of course we wanted to see more pics. I, for one, am a little jealous. We used to camp so often, but as with other hobbies, we let work and schedules get in the way. I'm gonna take a little lesson from you and change that!
The tire pic is funny! And I love the mini-railroad. How cool that people still use it for fun! Does Custard not have the desire to rip his bunny to shreds as my dog does??

ShadowRun300 - Custard has destroyed many many toys in his time, but this bunny has been spared for some reason.

Custard and his bunny are so cute! Our new kitty loves to cuddle with his toys, too.

Love the pic of Bunny Custard! Tires in cement - is that yet another Brit practice I am unfamiliar with?? And just what IS a "kissing gate"? I think I want one.

Riot Kitty - A cat that cuddles toys too? Please share pics!

Abby - This is the only place I have seen tyres in cement. Kissing gates are hard to explain, but have nothing to do with actual kissing, sadly.

Yes. We always want to see more pictures! Especially of the campground and countryside. I would love to see that train in operation. I imagine it is fun to watch/ride.

I sorta knew of kissing gates, but I still had to look it up to confirm. We don't have those here but we have a similar pass-through gate on some of the ranches the scouts use for camping. Not as romantic as your version, tho.

Agg79 - That is certainly the best mini train line I have seen locally - it winds off into the woods for a good distance. These little kissing gates are very quaint aren't they?

Yes, they do have something to do with kissing.... we always kissed when going through them, it's a family tradition!

Shammickite - Hm I wonder if it is a regional thing? Too risque for us up-tight Kentish folks?

Love the pictures! The one of Custard is especially cute. What a big, sweet baby he is!

You were country camping. I have gone out in the wilderness and camped and woke up to find I was in the midst of long horn steer. They were nice to me though.
I really like the pic of Custard with his fave toy.

Terri - Yes, Custard is a real baby - the perfect family hound.

CiCi - Yes, camping with real toilets and showers nearby, and nothing wandering that is more dangerous than the farm goats.
