as I was sitting watching a succession of bad movies (Killer Bees, Swamp Thing, Return of the Swamp Thing...) a sudden urge took hold of me.
I popped a quick question to my wife and then I was off to find the bag that contained the equipment that I needed.
Rummage rummage. Hm, this is the one!
Rummage rummage - too small, too big, OMG MUCH TOO BIG! Ah, that is the one, oh yes that feels good, it has been so long.
Then I was at it like a maniac.
Three hours later I had made my wife a red crochet beret. It really suits her, but she would not allow photos. Sorry.
Serious? YOU crochet?? That is stinking awesome! Another man secure in his manhood...do you wear pink too? Just kidding...Chuck won't wear pink! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteTeresa - Does Chuck crochet? Cool! No, I don't wear pink, you little tease!
ReplyDeleteno, Chuck doesn't crochet...he's too busy making excel spreadsheets...LOL!
ReplyDeleteTeresa - that is almost as good - I love playing with Excel!
ReplyDeleteI would seriously struggle against any urges to crochet. I guess I am not secure enough in my manhood.
ReplyDeleteJames - with all the kids you've got? :-)
ReplyDeletewhere'd you learn to crochet? i'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteMiss got wings - I learned while my wife was pregnant with our first child. I knit too, having made assorted hats, cardigans and sweaters with pictures of teddy bears etc on them, but I prefer crochet.
ReplyDeleteI love that you crochet!!
ReplyDeleteMy grandma tried to teach me to crochet, but I was hopeless.
ReplyDeleteYou never fail to surprise me! I am seriously impressed!
I'm going to be totally selfish here...and say that uh, ahem...um, Christmas IS coming up...and uh, that like, I personally think the fact that you crochet is AWESOME...and that like, you know...it's winter over here...and well, my head gets cold...you know...just saying...hehe. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you crocheted a beret for your wife...that is so precious!!! But no pics...maybe you could try it on and take a self portrait!?!
ReplyDeleteKenady - Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTerri - Maybe you should try again - I found it so easy I thought it was fool-proof. So much easier than knitting, with only one stitch to worry about!
Ali - Oh, the poor little match girl! Whatever shall we do?
Kiki - I did think of putting it on myself - maybe...
I love to crochet - always take a blanket that I am working on (early stages) on road trips - I get so much done - can't read in the car but can crochet - I would really like to knit better - all I can make are scarves - back and forth back and forth - and I have never learned what to do when I make a mistake when knitting. A knitting shop opened nearby and I am thinking of stopping in there!!
ReplyDeleteyou crochet??? what got that urge into you?
ReplyDeletei don't think i've ever met a guy that crochets!
Claire - knitting can be fun but also incredibly frustrating - give me a crochet hook any day!
ReplyDeleteUm Naief - I started years ago when my wife was carrying our first child. I don't think many guys do it!
well... that's sweet!!! did you make things for the babies?? does your wife crochet? i'd love to learn how... i used to be able to do something, but i can't remember if it was that or knitting. shoot, i can hardly remember how to cross stitch now... especially make the middle part of the flower... need to ask my mom for like the 5th time! ;)
ReplyDeletedidn't realize there was a difference between crochet and knitting. learn something new everyday.
ReplyDeletePMSL>.....Would you just stop with the talents....I am thinking I have so drawn the short crap stick with my DH LMAO
